The short answer

Viking Repair Experts repairs Viking, Wolf, and Thermador wall ovens in Los Altos homes, including heating, temperature, door lock, control, and convection problems. We diagnose in your kitchen and repair the oven where it's installed whenever possible.

A wall oven that won't heat, bakes unevenly, or stays locked after a self-clean cycle can throw off a whole week of cooking. Viking Repair Experts repairs built-in wall ovens in Los Altos homes, with a focus on Viking, along with Wolf and Thermador models. Los Altos is about 9 miles northwest of our San Jose base, so homes in the 94024 ZIP code are a short drive for our technicians. We diagnose the problem in your kitchen, explain what failed and why, and repair the oven in place whenever we can, so your cabinetry and trim stay as they are.

Wall Oven Problems We Fix in Los Altos Kitchens

Wall ovens are built into cabinetry, so they're harder to pull out than a freestanding range, and many problems can be solved without removing the oven at all. These are the issues Los Altos homeowners call us about most often.

  • Oven won't heat, or heats only on bake or only on broil
  • Temperature runs hot or cold, or baking comes out uneven
  • Convection fan is noisy, slow, or not turning
  • Door won't unlock after a self-clean cycle, or the lock won't engage
  • Error codes, blank displays, or touch controls that don't respond
  • Upper or lower oven in a double wall oven not working while the other one does
  • Gas wall oven that clicks but won't light, or takes too long to ignite
  • Oven light, door hinges, or door gasket worn or damaged

Viking, Wolf, and Thermador Wall Ovens

Viking wall ovens are our main focus. We work on single and double Viking wall ovens, including electric convection models and older gas units that some Los Altos homes still have. Common Viking repairs involve bake and broil elements, temperature sensors, convection fan motors, door latch assemblies, and control boards.

We also repair Wolf and Thermador wall ovens. Wolf ovens are often paired with a Sub-Zero refrigerator in the same kitchen, and we service Sub-Zero units too, so one visit can cover more than one appliance when needed. Thermador double wall ovens and combination steam and convection models show up in many remodeled kitchens, and we work on those as well.

We are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these brands.

How a Wall Oven Repair Visit Works

When you contact us, we'll ask for the brand, the model number if you can find it, and what the oven is doing. The model plate is usually on the oven frame, visible when the door is open, or along the edge of the drawer below. That information helps us arrive with the parts most likely to be needed.

At your home, the technician checks the oven's power or gas supply, tests elements, sensors, and the control system, and reads any stored error codes. Once we find the cause, we explain it in plain terms and tell you what the repair involves before any work begins. Many repairs can be finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we'll tell you what we're waiting on and schedule the return trip.

Before You Call: Simple Checks

A few quick checks can save time, and sometimes they solve the problem outright. Never remove panels or work on wiring yourself, since wall ovens run on high-voltage circuits and some use gas.

  • Check the breaker panel. Many double wall ovens use a dedicated double breaker, and a half-tripped breaker can leave an oven partly working.
  • If the door is locked after self-clean, let the oven cool completely. Most locks release only after the interior drops to a safe temperature.
  • Make sure the oven isn't set to a delay start, Sabbath mode, or control lock.
  • Write down any error code exactly as it appears on the display.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (464) 270-6861 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you repair my wall oven without removing it from the cabinet?

Usually, yes. Most element, sensor, door lock, and control repairs can be done with the oven in place. Some jobs require sliding the oven partway out, and we take care to protect your cabinetry and trim when we do.

Why won't my Viking wall oven unlock after self-cleaning?

The lock normally stays engaged until the oven cools. If it stays locked long after the oven is cool, the cause is often a faulty lock motor, lock switch, or temperature sensor. We can test each part and replace the one that failed.

Do you repair double wall ovens where only one oven works?

Yes. When one cavity works and the other doesn't, the cause is often a failed element, sensor, or relay on the control board for that oven. A tripped half of a double breaker can also cause it, so check the panel first.

Do you work on Wolf and Thermador wall ovens too?

Yes. Viking is our main focus, and we also repair Wolf and Thermador wall ovens, including convection and steam combination models. We service Sub-Zero refrigeration as well.

My oven bakes unevenly. Is that worth repairing?

Often it is. Uneven baking is commonly caused by a weak element, a failing convection fan, a temperature sensor that's out of range, or a worn door gasket. These are usually repairable parts, not a reason to replace the oven.

How far do you travel to Los Altos?

Los Altos is about 9 miles northwest of our San Jose base. We serve all of Los Altos and nearby Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, and Cupertino.
