Viking Repair Experts is an independent appliance repair company serving homes in and around San Jose. We work on premium kitchen appliances, starting with Viking and also including Sub-Zero, Wolf and Thermador. This page explains how we approach each repair: what we look for, how we talk with you about it, and what you can expect when we come to your home. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any appliance brand.

Why we focus on premium kitchen appliances

High-end ranges, refrigerators and wall ovens are built differently from standard appliances. A Viking range may have sealed burners, infrared broilers and convection systems working together. A Sub-Zero refrigerator often uses separate cooling systems for the fresh food and freezer sections. Wolf and Thermador cooking appliances have their own control boards, igniters and sensors. Knowing how these parts interact helps us find the actual cause of a problem instead of replacing parts until something works.

When an appliance is built into your cabinetry and designed to last, repair is usually worth a careful look before anyone talks about replacement. Our goal is to help you keep a good appliance running, and to be honest with you when a repair doesn't make sense.

How a repair visit works

Most problems can be understood before we arrive. When you contact us, we ask what the appliance is doing, when it started and whether anything changed around that time. That helps us plan the visit and bring the right tools.

At your home, we follow a straightforward process:

  • Confirm the symptom with you and check the model and serial information
  • Test the components most likely involved, rather than guessing
  • Explain what we found in plain language, including what failed and why
  • Tell you your options before any work begins, so you can decide
  • Clean up the work area and walk you through the finished repair

Working in South Bay homes

The Santa Clara Valley has dry summers and mild, damp winters, and inland and southern parts of the valley get noticeably hotter in summer than neighborhoods near the Bay. Refrigeration equipment in a warm kitchen or garage works harder during those months, so we pay attention to airflow, condenser condition and installation clearances along with the part that failed.

We also know that a kitchen appliance repair happens inside someone's home. We show up when we say we will, protect your floors and cabinetry, and keep you informed if a part needs to be ordered. If you have questions about your Viking, Sub-Zero, Wolf or Thermador appliance, we're glad to answer them, even if the answer is that no repair is needed.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Diagnosis first

We test the appliance and pinpoint the failed part or system before suggesting a fix, so you aren't paying for parts that weren't the problem.

  2. Clear options

We walk you through what we found, what the repair involves, and whether repair makes sense for an appliance of that age and condition.

  3. Respect for your kitchen

Premium appliances are often built into custom cabinetry. We work carefully around panels, trim, and countertops, and we clean up before we leave.
